-Plants
After you have selected your categories, you can use the websites provided under the resources tab to research and answer these questions:
1. What layer of the rainforest does your living being inhabit? Use least three specific examples to help explain this.
2. What are some characteristics of their habitat? Use at least three specific examples to help explain this.
3. What are some unique adaptations your species utilizes to survive in the rainforest? For example, how do they acquire the nutrients and food they need? How does a plant receive enough sunlight or water?
4. How is your category being affected by deforestation? What is deforestation?
5. Explore some specific species in your category, how many types are there? Do they all have the same habitat? Do they all have the same survival instincts? Which types are more affected by deforestation?

Part 2
Because of the ever-increasing threat of deforestation, protection of the rain forest and its species its vital. Based on what you have learned, you and your group are going to develop a "Save the Rainforest" plan to help protect the living beings of your category. You can select one specific species that you discovered withing your category (e.g. spider monkey, pitcher plant, poison dart frog, etc.), maybe consider a species that is endangered or threatened, and what you can do as a student to protect it.
As a group, but under the direction of the project master, you will design a poster that explains your plan to help save the rainforest, specifically your animal or plant.
Your poster should include:
-an brief overview of your animal/plant
-an explanation of the habitat in which they exist
-how deforestation is affecting your species
-what your group plan to do to help
